Temporary Road Rules Ahead: Key Changes on Crieffs A85
Starting June 16th, 2025, residents and drivers in Crieff should prepare for temporary changes affecting the A85 Trunk Road. The Scottish Ministers have announced a short-term adjustment to traffic rules to facilitate essential roadworks.
What's Happening?
From June 16th to July 1st, 2025, there will be a complete prohibition on waiting, loading, and unloading along specific stretches of the A85 in Crieff. This means no stopping for deliveries or pickups in these areas during the specified period.
Affected Areas
The restrictions apply to two segments of the A85:
-
From Mitchell Street to Ramsay Street: This section of East High Street spans approximately 55.44 metres.
-
From Ramsay Street to Leadenflower Street: Covering a stretch of about 57.67 metres on East High Street.
These changes are crucial for ensuring the safety and efficiency of the proposed roadworks.
Who's Exempt?
The order does not apply to emergency service vehicles (fire brigade, ambulance, police, and coastguard) or vehicles directly involved in the roadworks.
Alternative Routes
To minimize inconvenience, drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes. Authorities have considered and identified suitable options to accommodate the diverted traffic effectively.
Why This Matters
These temporary measures are in place to ensure that necessary roadworks can be completed safely and efficiently without the hindrance of parked or stopped vehicles. Cooperation from the community will help in maintaining smooth traffic flow and enhancing safety during this period.
Stay informed and plan your journeys accordingly to avoid disruptions. For any updates or further information, keep an eye on local announcements and traffic signs.
