Temporary Road Closure on A5 Trunk Road for Bethesda Carnival

The Welsh Ministers, responsible for traffic management on the A5 trunk road, have issued a temporary prohibition of vehicles due to the Bethesda Carnival. This measure aims to ensure public safety and facilitate the smooth running of the event.

  • Order Name: A5 Trunk Road (High Street, Bethesda, Gwynedd) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles) Order 2025
  • Event Period: Begins at 1:00 PM on 17th May 2025 and ends once temporary traffic signs are permanently removed.
  • Affected Area: The stretch of the A5 in Bethesda, Gwynedd, from its junction with Station Road to the junction leading to the football field.

Exemptions:

Certain vehicles are exempt from this restriction, including:

  1. Emergency service vehicles (police, fire, ambulance).
  2. Vehicles used for road maintenance, traffic signal work, or emergency utility services (gas, water, electricity, telecommunications).
  3. Authorized vehicles supporting the event for operational or safety reasons.

Implementation:

The prohibition is only applicable when indicated by traffic signs. The order is valid for a maximum of one day.
