What's Changing?
Starting from 21st February 2025, new temporary speed limits will be enforced on specific stretches of the A85 Trunk Road at Comrie. These restrictions will remain in effect until 15th March 2025.
Why the Change?
The Scottish Ministers have introduced these temporary speed limits due to concerns over potential dangers to the public and possible serious damage to the road. This decision is not linked to ongoing road works but aims to enhance safety for all road users.
Where Are the New Limits?
-
20 mph Zone: From a point 174 metres west of the junction with Monument Road to 165 metres north-east of the junction with Nurses Lane. This section stretches approximately 932 metres.
-
30 mph Zone: From 165 metres north-east of the junction with Nurses Lane to 408 metres east of the same junction, covering about 243 metres.
Exemptions
Certain vehicles are exempt from these speed restrictions, including those used by special forces as per the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) Regulations 2011, and emergency vehicles used for coastguard purposes.
Remember, these speed limits are temporary, so keep an eye out for traffic signs indicating where these limits apply. Your cooperation not only helps in maintaining road safety but also in protecting the road infrastructure from potential damage.
