In a move to facilitate a significant local event, the Welsh Ministers have announced a temporary traffic restriction on a section of the A458 trunk road in Welshpool, Powys. This decision is in response to the Continental Market event taking place on or near this road.

- Affected Area: The restriction applies to Broad Street and High Street in Welshpool, extending from The Cross junction to the southern end of the traffic island at Jehu Road junction.
- Event Period: The restriction will start at 6:00 PM on 3rd July 2025 and will remain in effect until temporary traffic signs are permanently removed.
- Duration: The order is valid for a maximum of four days.
Exemptions:
Certain vehicles are exempt from this restriction, including:
- Emergency services vehicles (police, fire, and ambulance).
- Vehicles used for road works, traffic lights, signage, or urgent infrastructure repairs (such as sewage, gas, water, electricity, or telecommunications).
- Vehicles operated by authorized event officials for event support and safety reasons.
Implementation:
The restriction will be enforced only when indicated by traffic signs, ensuring minimal disruption while facilitating the safe and successful execution of the Continental Market event.
