In a recent move by the Welsh Government, a temporary traffic ban has been declared for a section of the A40 trunk road in Pontargothi, Carmarthenshire. This decision, aimed at facilitating essential roadworks, will take effect from June 25, 2025.
Key Details:
- Implementation Date: The ban comes into force on June 25, 2025.
- Affected Area: The traffic restriction applies to the bridge section of the A40 over the River Cothi, stretching from the entrance of Cothi Hall to the junction with Afon Cothi Road in Pontargothi.
- Work Period: The road will be closed intermittently starting at 8:00 PM on June 25, 2025, and will continue until temporary traffic signs are permanently removed.
- Duration: The order is valid for up to 18 months, although the actual duration may be shorter depending on the completion of the roadworks.
- Exceptions: The ban will only be enforced when indicated by temporary traffic signs.
