Starting September 1, 2025, motorists in North East Scotland should prepare for some significant changes to their usual routes. The Scottish Ministers have issued a new order impacting several trunk roads due to essential roadworks, set to last until December 1, 2025. Here's a breakdown of what to expect:

Key Changes and Restrictions:

1. Road Closures: Certain sections of the M90/A90/A9000 Edinburgh to Fraserburgh Trunk Road will be temporarily closed. Look out for traffic signs indicating these closures and plan your journeys accordingly.

2. No Overtaking Zones: To ensure safety during these works, overtaking will be prohibited on specified road sections. This restriction does not apply to bicycles, motorcycles, and tricycles, but all motor vehicles must comply.
